  • Ha! Got a 2$ USD shuttle to the airport. $12 taxi? Pffft. Our 1415 flight is delayed 1 hour due to “technical difficulties” :-( #
  • Bother, the flight got cancelled due to a faulty landing gear. Now we have to wait and see how we get home. #
  • We are delayed an entire day in Hanoi, Catching the same flight, but a day later :-( But we’re staying at the Hanoi Sheraton for free :-) #

    paddy hills, so having a hill person attached to my hip wasn’t so bad as she helped me on the slippery bits. i did have to buy a bag off her though and i’m sure i overpaid. Sapa was beautiful though, and Halong Bay stunning also.

    Zee is in Halong Bay still, doing some rock climbing so Richard and i will do a bit of shopping tomorrow. hopefully, just waiting to find out from travel agent what our baggage allowance is, as we may be cutting it fine due to new shoes etc.

    thing is i want to get anything i may need over here as is cheaper than in NZ, at the same time it’s hard spending so much money. oh well i’m sure i’ll get over it. :)

    yikes, i don’t have a rain coat. worse still i got told by two people it
    is warm here. well, the place is covered in fog and cold and i only have shorts and a small polar fleece.

    we have tribe people here in the village trying to sell their stuff, but the bad part is they stand outside your hotel all day and when you leave they follow you for km’s until you buy something. i bought a cushion cover that’s not that great. i part traded a t-shirt for it so only had to pay $6 ha, i can picture it now my cream duvet cover will gradually turn blue from the plant dye in the cushion cover.

    tonight we go back to Hanoi on the overnight train then off to Halong Bay straight away tomorrow. then hanoi and home

    we are having loads of fun, Zee is such a great travel companion, and he says the same about us which is nice. No disagreements

    we were thinking winter will be a nice relief after all the heat but now
    that we are in the hills and it’s cccooolllldddd maybe the heat isn’t so
    bad after all.
