The Travel Blog of Richard and Geraldine
Geraldine and Richard at the Cruz de Ferro. Supposedly set at the highest point of the Camino, pilgrims brings a stone or rock from their home village and leave it at the base of the cross. Sorta of a way of carrying your penance, and leaving it behind on the camino, or something.
The original cross, with its wonky pole was chopped down earlier that year by some drunk teenagers. So they put up a replacement. Stupid bloody teenagers.

There was a hugh parade after the hugh flags walked through the old town. I took a picture of some local men bemused by the local dress of one of the counties they represent.
