Stuff

Im doing a tempping job manning the phones for the sports marketing dept for Hill and Knowlton publishing (well, at least i think they are a publishing house). Lets hope noone rings this afternoon 8P.

Ive sent off my CV to that person you suggested dad. Ive sorta given up looking for 12£+ hour jobs and im now wiling to settle for any job, cos after 4 weeks of looking, I have come up a nothing. Im just going to see out my last few leeds (5 of them) before formally giving up and trying for a perm admin job at 6£/hour *sigh*

Geri has been invited to a xmas party for one of her temping agencies, but to bring me along it will be 15£.

Geri and I went to work for Geri’s Dad’s ex Rachael in Mortimer (just out of redding, west of london) last weekend. It was cool. She manages a house thats used as a conference center (8 rooms, 8 bathrooms, pool, spa, and thats just for starters), and she invited us over to help with the room turnaround.

We caught the tube to Waterloo, and successfully managered to buy a ticket and catch the right train to , hmmm, braskstone? and transferred (again successfully) to the train that stopped off at mortimer, where Rachael picked us up. Mad driving down narrow 1 lane, 2 way english country roads at 50mph we pulled into this HUGH huose place.

We got feed by leftovers (cooked by a french chef no less) and Geri and I stripped 8 beds, cleaned 6 bathrooms and 7 toilets. We then walked down to the local (using a flashlight, sun sets at 4:30pm here now) and had a pint (I like Ginuess now, just not the face I make after drinking it ;-) .

Slept in till 10pm got up lazly and Rachale took us to the Roman Ruins nearby. We walked along the old town wall, made in 50ad (yes, near 2000 years ago!). We got lost and ended back at the house of all places, however the car was by the chuch at the other side of the ruins (10 min drive away!) and rachael had to drive someone to the train station in 10 minutes!

We walked fast back along the muddy and water filled potholed track back to the old wall, took the correct turn and continued around the ancient roman ruin wall, after 20 min we were back at the car (th road must take a bizarre way of getting there).

Back at the house we sat down had some more hot chocolate and ate goodies till Rachael dropped us off back at the train station and we caught the 4:21 back to water loo. 2 hours later we were back in our smokey flat. Man, there is soo much cool stuff just an hour from London. The train cost 17£ return (incl disciount from our weekly 1-2 zone tube passes) and Rachael gave us 20£ each for our work. It was a nice weekend holiday.

anyway, im off to see how poor i am (thank goodness for inet banking)

Bah, cant find a job

Heya,

Hehe, the two reasons are
1) Not enough experience
2) The client wants a contract to permanat role, and with your 2 year visa, your unsuitable for the job.

fuckers.

anywho. I recieved my student loan bill (thanks), however its no use to me, cos I dont have my NZ cheque book with me, so off it goes back home again so that dad or mum and sign the cheque for me. So when it comes to tax or bill matters, could you please just email me the amount, cos ill have to get you to write the cheqes for me back home.

I wish ive been keeping a diary on my return to london, cos some funny and freaky shit has happened, but as per usual I cant remember. Like a “cake on” made up india girl on the tube listening to some music on her walkman. She starts bobbing her head to the music, then starts gyrating, then POLE DANCES! wtf? man did the entier tube give her weird looks, not that she cared, she was having too much fun gyrating…(mmm, gyrate). I got a free ticket to see the last ever pumpkins concert by Michael Hudson, it was pretty cool. We have moved right next to london arena, where in the past week or so there has been britinay spears, 2 ice hockey games, robbie williams, the Who, and a few other name acts I cant remember the name on, gee its non stop concerts there, like every 2nd day.

The SAs we are living with are completly un house trained, Geri reckons that they must all have had maids back home cleaning up their mess. They all buy TV dinners and when I cook they call _ME_ a master chef, cos all the food I made looks _GORMET_ (sp?). FFS WTF? This is the person who couldnt cook to save his live 6 months ago (tommorrow is the 6mth anniversay of us leaving, 6mths eh?).

Geri is busy at work, and the boss already loves her, saying shes kick arse with customer service. Still havnt finished my camino diary and shit.

erm. yea.

bye.

loveyas.

Re: how did your concert go

Heya, Richard Here, using Geris email.

>P.S Hi Ricky, How was the concert, grr jealous!!!

short answer:loud and cool

long answer:

No Wonder your jealous, whats the chance of going to London, to have a friend ring you up saying they have a free ticket to the last ever show of the Pumpkins in London ever?

My Friend Michael Hudson (who went from stubbies shorts and short back and sides haircut, to full leather jackets, shaved hair and those chin peircings) rang me up cos we were to meet, and offered one of us a ticket. After initially saying no (DUMBARSE!) The smart part of my brain (Geri) kicked in and I gladly accepted. We caught the tube to Paddington station (eeek, there are two Paddingtons on the tube map! which one do we take?). We walked to the Sussox Arms in London St and sneaked up to the Michael person. He Shouted us a beer and tried to convince Geri to take his ticket, so the both of us could go. However the process of getting the ticket was a bit complicated, and Geri wanted us to go together instead.

Anyway, off on the tube to Baker Street (oldest tube station), then caught the metropolitian line (which runs parallel to the Jubilee line, but is faster cos it doesnt have as many stops) and to wembely arena we went.

Got the tickets by showing an order form from Michael’s ex, a letter from michael’s ex saying he can collect the ticket, and some id (whew). Then went inside at around 8:15 (after the support act, Catheryn wheel, had finished)

waited a bit, the concert started. Loud. Normally I have earplugs in, which cut out the HF noise part, leaving some decient sounds. Anyway, Billy Corgan was in this white trenchcoat, and musta been wearing white makeup cos his bald shining head was pretty white. Sorta looked like a cross between uncle fester and a white neo from the matrix. They played some shit I didnt know, and some shit I knew (bullet with buttifly wings, today (acoustic), tonight tonight, and another song I know but dont know the name of (disarm maybe?)).

Michael had gone to the concert on friday (front row!) and was pretty tired, so we hanged back just infront of the sound desk and watched from afar (bout 10-15m away). They finished the set with Drown from the simaise twins album, accompanied with lots of guatar solos. Did 1 encore, then finished.

Billy did some talking, hassling the american presidential elections, and the british MP that got mugged, and other tomfoolery. The support guartaist (the aisian guy that I can never remember the name of) introed the band. a FX guy, a pianiast, the bassest from Hole, Jimmiy thingyamabob (the one they fired for doing drugs, was back) and of course billy.

Yea, the concert finished, the lights went back on, everyone left, went to the tube station, and we all PACKED onto the tube (all 10,000 of us ;-) and wnet home. I said goodbye to Mike at the Baker Street station, while I went onto Kings Cross St Pancras, to connect to Nothern to get off at Angle, and bus to Lenio’s.

Whoops, I talk too long.

Geri wants to know when the operation is? (oops, we were meant to operate on his knee, not take his spleen out)

Thanks. haha, what was meant to be a quick reply just too my 1 hour. Buggar.

-Richard
